5-Day Mount Kilimanjaro Climb via the Marangu Route

Overview

The 5 Days Marangu Route is one of the most popular ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and is commonly known as the "Coca-Cola Route." It is the oldest established route on the mountain and the only route that offers comfortable mountain hut accommodation instead of camping.

This route follows the same trail for both ascent and descent, making navigation straightforward while passing through lush rainforest, heath, moorland, alpine desert, and finally the arctic summit zone. Although it is the shortest route to the summit, it is physically demanding due to the limited acclimatization time.

The 5-day itinerary is best suited for trekkers with good physical fitness who are looking for a shorter Kilimanjaro adventure. Along the journey, you'll experience spectacular scenery, unique vegetation, and breathtaking sunrise views from Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa.
