Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel and a transfer to Momella Gate, where you will meet your mountain crew and armed ranger. After completing registration, set off on a scenic hike through open grasslands and beautiful montane forests. This section offers excellent opportunities to spot wildlife, including giraffes, Cape buffaloes and warthogs, as you explore the natural surroundings of Arusha National Park. Along the trail, stop for lunch near the remarkable Fig Tree Arch, a natural formation with an opening large enough for a vehicle to pass through. Continue your ascent to Miriakamba Hut, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night preparing for the next day's climb.

After breakfast, continue your climb towards Saddle Hut, following a steep trail that gradually leads you out of the dense forest and into the open moorland zone. As you gain altitude, the landscape changes to giant heather and distinctive highland vegetation, offering magnificent views of the surrounding terrain. Take regular breaks to maintain a comfortable pace and allow your body to adjust to the increasing elevation. Upon reaching Saddle Hut, enjoy a warm lunch and some time to rest. If conditions and your energy levels permit, embark on an optional afternoon hike to Little Meru for rewarding panoramic views. Return to Saddle Hut for dinner, followed by an early night before your midnight summit attempt.

Your summit adventure begins around midnight as you ascend towards Rhino Point beneath the night sky. Continue along a narrow, rocky ridge overlooking Mount Meru's dramatic inner crater, passing Cobra Point before making the final push to Socialist Peak at 4,566 metres. Arrive around sunrise to witness the spectacular scenery, including the Ash Cone within the crater and, on a clear morning, magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro. After celebrating your achievement and taking photographs, descend to Saddle Hut for a well-earned meal before continuing down to Momella Gate. The descent takes you back through the mountain's changing vegetation, with further opportunities to encounter wildlife in the lower forest. At the gate, your vehicle will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Arusha or to the airport at an additional cost.
